Why Submagic users go looking
- "The only thing missing is a proper timeline in the video editor like in CapCut." (Trustpilot, September 2026)
- "Most creators end up using the same three because they perform." (Blotato, a rival tool, on Submagic templates)
- A rival's test found an auto-hook that "didn't match the clip's actual content" and an auto-zoom that "landed on the wrong frame." (ScaleReach, a rival tool)
Captions and an auto-zoom only go so far. The videos that hold attention show the thing being talked about.
What "b-roll" has to do to be worth it
B-roll is useful when it appears on the line it illustrates, not on a random beat. That needs something that reads the transcript, knows what footage exists, and places the shot at the mention. A template cannot do that; it does not know what you said. The same goes for graphics: a counter should appear when you say the number.
"…which is why I make everyone start with push-ups—"
How RealTake does b-roll and graphics
Three sources: your own uploaded footage, licensed stock, and AI-generated images and clips. Your uploads are indexed by what is in them, so when you mention something you have footage of, that clip is pulled in automatically; mention push-ups, your push-up demo appears. The library grows with every upload, with 2 GB free and 10, 30 or 100 GB on paid plans. Three density levels; medium is about one clip every 8 seconds. When no suitable shot exists, RealTake can generate one for the exact line, and you approve before anything is generated.
Motion graphics: a library of 200+ templates, stat reveals, counters, lists, charts, quotes, kinetic headlines, matched to moments in the transcript, plus animated stickers. Numbers and lists become visuals. Everything is placed clear of your face, and everything is movable in the Studio.
The pricing principle is the same on every RealTake plan: every feature is on every plan, you see the cost of a video before it is made, changes in the Studio before render cost nothing, and a failed render is never charged. Presence is $49 a month, or $29 billed yearly, for around 16 to 32 finished videos; Authority and Empire scale from there. Free: 5 watermarked videos a month, no card.
Upload one raw video and see the whole edit.
Free plan: 5 watermarked videos a month. No credit card.
