Smart cuts: record it once, stumbles and all

Talk straight through. RealTake removes the retakes, filler and dead air and keeps your best delivery of each line. Every cut is labeled, and you can undo any of them.

The short answer

RealTake's smart cuts remove filler words, repeated lines, rambles and silences from a raw video of you talking. Each cut carries a label saying why it was made, and each one can be reversed in the Studio. You record once, keep going when you stumble, and never trim by hand.

What it does

Record once, stumbles and all

Many people abandon a video on the third attempt at the same sentence. With smart cuts you do not restart. Say the line again and keep going.

  • Retakes. When you repeat a line, the best delivery is kept and the others are removed.
  • Filler and rambles. The ums, the false starts and the tangents that do not serve the point.
  • Dead air. Pauses between phrases are closed so the video moves.

You stay in control of every cut

Automatic cutting is only useful if you can see what it did and undo what you disagree with.

Every cut is labeled

Each removal carries one of 10 reasons, such as a retake, a filler word or a pause, so you know why it went.

Every cut is reversible

Restore any removed section in the Studio. Nothing is lost: your raw video stays intact.

You set the strength

Editing strength runs from off to high. Tight pacing is a separate control for how closely phrases sit together.

Where it sits

Cuts are the first pass, not the whole edit

Smart cuts run first, then the rest of the edit is built on the tightened video: captions timed to the words that remain, b-roll placed over the right lines, camera moves on the phrases that matter.

By default RealTake goes straight to the finished video. If you want to check first, the whole edit is on one timeline in the Studio.
