AI hook generator for reels: a video hook from your own footage
An AI hook is an opener for your short, built from the take you uploaded. It uses your face, your voice and your words. It is optional, and you see it before it is used.
RealTake's AI hooks build an opener for a short from the person's own footage: their face, their voice and their words, animated. There are 8 opener styles. The hook is always optional. You preview it in the Studio and can remove it before rendering. It is never a stock avatar or a synthetic stranger.
An opener made from the take you recorded
The first seconds of a short decide whether someone keeps watching. Most talking takes start slowly: a breath, a greeting, a run-up to the point.
An AI hook is an animated opener placed at the start of the short. It is built from three things, all of them yours:
- Your face. The footage comes from your own take.
- Your voice. The audio is you speaking.
- Your words. The line is something you said in the take.
How AI hooks work
8 opener styles
There are 8 styles of opener. Each one animates your own footage in a different way.
Always optional
A hook is never forced into your short. If you prefer to start on your first line, remove it.
Previewed before use
You see the hook in the Studio with the rest of the edit. It goes into the final video only when you press Continue.
Part of the edit plan
Before anything is assembled, the edit plan works out where the hook is in your take, along with pacing, b-roll and zooms.
An AI hook is never an avatar
RealTake edits real footage of the real person. The hook is not a stock avatar, not a synthetic stranger and not a presenter you pick from a menu. It is you, from your own take.
Preview the hook, keep it or remove it
The hook arrives in the Studio alongside the cuts, captions and b-roll, on the same timeline. Watch it in context using the fast preview.
- Keep it if it opens the short well.
- Remove it if you would sooner start on your own first line.
- Adjust what follows it: trim, reorder and edit captions as usual.
Nothing renders or publishes without your approval, and that includes the hook.
See the Studio →Who AI hooks are for
People whose name and face are the business: coaches, consultants, founders, financial advisors, attorneys, realtors, therapists and fitness trainers. For them the opener has to be the real person saying something they would stand behind, because viewers are deciding whether to trust that person.
That is the reason the hook is limited to your own footage and your own words. It gives the short a stronger start without putting anything on screen that you did not say.
What to expect from an AI hook
- The words come from your take, so the opener sounds like you.
- It is built to hold attention at the start, and you judge whether it works for your audience.
The rest of the opening is handled by the other features: smart cuts remove the slow start, and AI captions put the first line on screen.
