AI captions for short-form video, animated word by word

RealTake transcribes your take at word level, works out which words carry each sentence, and emphasises and animates those. You can edit every word before the short renders.

The short answer

RealTake adds AI captions to short-form video automatically. It transcribes a raw talking take word by word, decides which words carry each sentence, and emphasises and animates them. There are 29 caption presets across 8 style families, 82 word animations and 1,834 fonts. Every word and phrase can be edited in the Studio.

What it does

Captions that follow the sentence, not just the audio

Plain auto-captions put every word on screen at the same weight. RealTake's caption engine reads the take first.

  • Word-level transcription. Each word is transcribed and timed on its own, so captions track your speech word by word.
  • Emphasis by meaning. The engine decides which words carry each sentence and gives those the emphasis.
  • Animation on the words that matter. Emphasised words are animated, so the motion points at the point you are making.

Caption presets and style families

A preset is a complete caption look: font, layout and animation chosen to work together. RealTake has 29 of them, with names such as Silver Screen, Velvet, Spotlight and Prestige.

The presets are grouped into 8 style families:

  • Cinematic
  • Pro
  • Playful
  • High-Impact
  • Tech
  • Dramatic
  • Retro
  • Special

The style family is chosen as part of the edit plan, along with pacing, b-roll and zooms, so the captions match the rest of the short. Emoji pop is included for moments where an emoji helps the line land.

Your control

Edit any caption word in the Studio

Transcription gets names, brands and technical terms wrong sometimes. That is why every word and phrase is editable before you render.

  • Fix a misheard word or a spelling.
  • Change a phrase so it reads the way you want it on screen.
  • Check the captions against the cuts, b-roll and zooms on the same timeline.

Caption edits happen in the same screen as the rest of the review. When the short looks right, press Continue to render.

How captions fit with the rest of the edit

Captions are one layer of a planned edit. Smart cuts remove the retakes, filler and dead air first, so you are not left captioning a sentence you said three times. Automatic b-roll, emphasis zooms and motion graphics are placed around the same lines.

You do not set any of this up. Upload the take, and the captions arrive with the rest of the edit for review.
