Submagic pricing explained: credits, videos and the 2-minute cap

What a Submagic credit actually buys, read from its pricing page, and what the same money buys on RealTake.

The short answer

Submagic Starter is $19 a month, or $12 billed yearly, for 45 credits, shown as about 15 videos, each capped at 2 minutes. Pro and Business raise the count and the cap. A credit covers a caption-and-effects pass on a clip you cut yourself; the cut, the b-roll and the posting are not what the credit buys. RealTake counts finished videos, with cuts, captions, b-roll, graphics and sound included in each one, on every plan.

What Submagic's pricing page says

Read on October 28, 2026 at submagic.co/pricing:

  • Starter: $19 a month, or $12 a month billed yearly. 45 credits, shown as about 15 videos. Each video capped at 2 minutes.
  • Pro: 120 credits, shown as 40 videos, 5-minute cap. $39 a month, or $23 billed yearly, at our October 5 check.
  • Business: 300 credits, shown as 100 videos, 30-minute cap. $69 a month, or $41 billed yearly, at our October 5 check.

The model is credits per video, with the length cap set by tier. Annual billing is charged up front, and its users report the renewal arriving with "no reminder, no heads-up" (Product Hunt).

What a credit does not cover

A Submagic credit is spent on the caption pass. Cutting the clip happens before upload, in another tool. Users asking for "a proper timeline" (Trustpilot) are asking for the part the credit never included. If an export does not match the preview, the re-export is on you: "had to export 5-6 times" (Product Hunt). And the 2-minute cap on Starter means a longer recording has to be trimmed down first.

How RealTake prices the same job

RealTake counts finished videos, and each one is the whole edit: the cut, a title and hook, animated captions, b-roll, 200+ motion graphics, camera moves and sound, in a style that is refreshed every week. Nothing in that list is a separate credit. Posting and scheduling to LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram and YouTube are on every plan.

The pricing principle is the same on every RealTake plan: every feature is on every plan, you see the cost of a video before it is made, changes in the Studio before render cost nothing, and a failed render is never charged. Presence is $49 a month, or $29 billed yearly, for around 16 to 32 finished videos; Authority and Empire scale from there. Free: 5 watermarked videos a month, no card.
