Higgsfield · question

How do Higgsfield credits work?

Every attempt costs credits, kept or not, and what you do not use disappears at the next refresh.

The short answer

Higgsfield sells credits per generation attempt. As of a pricing snapshot dated October 25, 2026, Starter is $15 for 200 credits, Plus $49 for 1,000 and Ultra $129 for 3,000; subscription credits expire at each refresh with no rollover, credit packs expire after 90 days, failed generations are usually refunded and unwanted results are not. Rerolls and upscales are charged. RealTake includes AI-Generated Assets inside every plan, runs generation only after you approve it, and shows the cost before anything renders.

What Higgsfield users say about credits

Credits are the single most common complaint across Higgsfield's 5,000-plus Trustpilot reviews, 18% of them one star.

  • "I've wasted significant time, money, and credits repeating the same process with unpredictable results." (Trustpilot)
  • "Both times, it processed none of the changes and made the exact same video." And on asking for those credits back: "Customer service said they cannot refund anything even if the videos are identical." (Trustpilot, page 2)
  • "Tried to just make ONE VIDEO and it said I didn't have enough credit and needed to buy PLUS!!!" (Trustpilot, page 2)

Why the credits go so fast

A generation model does not know what you meant. It produces a guess, you judge it, and if the guess is wrong you pay again. On Higgsfield every attempt is charged whether you keep the result or not, the plan's credits reset at each refresh instead of rolling over, and a pricing explainer notes that rerolls, upscales and anything run outside the website also deduct credits (Krea, 2026). The plan grid itself changes often: an August 2026 snapshot showed different tiers and amounts from the October one (Segmind, DIY AI), so the number you budgeted against may not be the number next month.

How RealTake handles generation instead

RealTake is an editor for a video of you talking. Generation is one of three b-roll sources, next to licensed stock and your own indexed footage, and the Director uses it only when no suitable shot exists for the line you are saying. You can also select any moment in the Studio and reimagine it from your own frames.

In RealTake, generation is a line inside the plan, not a separate currency. AI-Generated Assets are included on every plan: around 12 a month free, around 100, 250 or 560 on the paid plans, alongside the whole edit. Generation is off by default and runs only after you approve it, with the cost shown first. Review the edit before it renders and change anything at no extra charge. Failed renders are never charged.
