What Submagic users report
- "The trim, preview, final export do not align… had to export 5-6 times." (Product Hunt)
- "Process gets stuck when exporting videos due to server issues." (G2)
- "It glitches when watching the video while you're editing it." (G2)
- "Barely works, submagic is over priced, frequently inaccessible." (Trustpilot, August 2026)
Why a preview and an export drift apart
When the preview is a lightweight approximation drawn in the browser and the export is rendered separately, the two can disagree: a trim lands a few frames off, a caption appears a beat late, an effect shows in one and not the other. Each re-export costs time, and on a per-video credit model it can cost a credit too. Reviewers also note that exports default to compressed settings.
How RealTake keeps approval and render the same
The Studio shows the whole edit on one timeline: every cut, caption, title, graphic, b-roll shot, camera move and sound effect, in the positions they will render. You change anything you like and press Continue. Nothing renders until you do, and what you approved is what comes back, in 1080p, ready to post or schedule to LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. Rendering runs in the cloud in the background; you can upload the next video while it works, and if you disconnect, the job resumes where it stopped.
The pricing principle is the same on every RealTake plan: every feature is on every plan, you see the cost of a video before it is made, changes in the Studio before render cost nothing, and a failed render is never charged. Presence is $49 a month, or $29 billed yearly, for around 16 to 32 finished videos; Authority and Empire scale from there. Free: 5 watermarked videos a month, no card.
Upload one raw video and see the whole edit.
